06/08/10 - Gambolling Arena's Edinburgh countdown is in full swing. Only 17 days to go... gulp! The wigs are in for a service, the flyers and posters are designed (thanks to our very talented designers @PFlawedDesign on Twitter) and currently winging their way to the printers, we're on our way to Edinburgh tomorrow to schmooze the media and sell 'I Wish You Love'. The only thing we need now is a cunning but classy publicity stunt to get us extra coverage, contact us through the site or via facebook or twitter if you've got any suggestions. Our fave so far is this Brighton student's idea - genius! As an aside, please get in contact if you're going to be in Edinburgh while we are there, we're performing as part of the High Street events on the 23rd, 26th & 27th August, so if you fancy a taster come & catch us at the lower stage at 1.15pm.

29/07/10 - Summer is proving to be a manic time for Gambolling Arena! We had a fabulous weekend camping and performing Fantastic Mr Fox and Blue Remembered Hills in the gorgeous Wyre country park - a big thank you to Charlie and the gang for all their help. We were so lucky with the weather, the rain chose to fall between performances, and both shows had great audiences. We hope to return to the Wyre next year for more theatrical shenanigans.
Throughout the summer we're working with Sefton Council performing at their Summer Fun Days - check out the Sefton Council Events Diary for more information. The weather has been mixed due to the very wet summer we've been having, but the response from the kids has been fabulous, the actors have also really been enjoying getting involved in all the activities so don't be worried if you see a fox, a badger and a farmer playing cricket in a park near you this summer! Not one to rest on our laurels, we've also joined the twitter revolution, please follow us @GambollingArena. We've also created a facebook fan page for our Edinburgh bound show 'I Wish You Love' - you know you like it... I Wish You Love will be at the Spaces on the Mile @ the Radisson from 23rd - 28th August. For tickets and further information, visit the I Wish You Love page on the Edinburgh Fringe site. |
17/07/10 - The cast of I Wish You Love (#IWYL if you follow us on twitter) are fresh from a two day stint at the Lantern Theatre! The venue is lovely, very intimate and the staff were hugely supportive. It was great to do the show for our friends and family and we also raised some much needed cash for our forthcoming Edinburgh Fringe tour. We love how this show keeps developing and progressing each time we do it - this run Marlene's end scenes really came together and Edith's heartbreak was all the more palpable. Bring on the Edinburgh Fringe!

Our bank holiday was filled with superb performances, a wonderful response from our audiences and a fantastic FIVE STAR review from allthefestivals.com.
